kWh Analytics CEO Richard Matsui is honored to be joining other solar industry leaders at the White House at an invite-only discussion about the future of the industry on October 8, 2014.
The agenda for the day centers on “Innovations to Drive Increased Capital Flows into the Solar Market.” We believe that one of the principal challenges inhibiting capital flows into the solar market is uncertainty around system performance, contract defaults, and the resulting impact on cashflows. Without data to substantiate modeled financial assumptions, investors are kept on the sidelines even as the industry’s insatiable demand for capital continues to grow. Our portfolio management tools help investors to leverage the power of 40,000+ operating PV systems to quantify those uncertainties and confidently deploy capital in solar.
The participants will be discussing several key issues related to the future of the industry:
How can we increase the available pool of offtakers and qualified development assets?
How can we facilitate the creation of yield-cos and other securities for solar?
What is the perceived risk of a solar security? What is the risk premium of solar assets vs. traditional securitized assets, both in the short- and long-term?
Is there a role for green banks to play in the deployment of private capital?
The discussion will be held in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
